Frequently asked questions

Which controllers are supported?

One app for both: PoolPilot supports the ProCon.IP and the Violet. Just add a connection profile — the app detects the device type automatically.

How do I connect the app to my controller?

The app and the controller must be on the same network. Add a connection profile and enter your controller’s address (host or IP) plus a username and password — PoolPilot detects whether it’s a ProCon.IP or a Violet automatically. A demo mode is built in so you can try the app first.

The app can’t reach the controller — what now?

Check that your phone and controller are on the same Wi-Fi/network and that the address/port are correct. On Android 17 and newer the app also needs the local-network permission — accept the prompt on first launch. Also check the HTTP/HTTPS setting and any firewall.

Do I need an account or a cloud?

No. PoolPilot talks directly to your controller on the local network. There is no account with us and no cloud.

What does PoolPilot cost, and what is Pro?

During the beta, PoolPilot is completely free — every feature is open. After the beta, some of them will become PoolPilot Pro, a subscription with a free trial. Exactly which features become Pro, and what it costs, we’ll announce in good time on the news page beforehand.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Once PoolPilot Pro exists: in the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play account, where it renews automatically unless cancelled in time. During the beta there’s no subscription yet.

Is my data collected?

No — no ads, no tracking. Credentials stay on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Does it work when I’m away from home?

PoolPilot communicates with the controller on your local network. Remote access depends on your own network setup (e.g. a VPN back home) and is not part of the app.
