PoolPilot 0.7.0

What’s new in 0.7.0

  • Switch a variable-speed filter pump on at a speed you pick, and see its running speed on the tile
  • Open your controller’s web interface in a built-in browser
  • Undo a deleted connection profile
  • On Android: Material You colors, a per-app language (en/de), and a predictive back gesture
  • Haptic feedback on control actions, plus fuller VoiceOver/TalkBack and Reduce Motion/Transparency support
  • Fix: VIOLET reads its targets from the active dosing channel

PoolPilot 0.6.0

What’s new in 0.6.0

  • Remote access to your pool — a profile can now hold a remote address alongside the local one, and the app switches between them automatically (local network first, remote when the controller isn’t reachable at home). VIOLET uses its built-in remote-access feature; ProCon.IP has none, so it only works with your own setup (DynDNS, port forwarding, VPN or a reverse proxy)
  • Timed relay switches — long-press a relay to switch it for a set duration, after which it returns to its previous setting (Auto/On/Off), with a custom-duration picker. VIOLET runs the timer on the controller, so it finishes even with the app closed; ProCon.IP runs it in the app — in the background on Android, but iOS needs to stay open (or you switch off from a notification)
  • Manual dosing for ProCon.IP — trigger manual chlorine and pH dosing straight from the app, matching the controls VIOLET already offered
  • Dashboard fixes — no longer goes blank after switching profiles, scrolls edge-to-edge behind the status bar, and falls back to a static background on Android devices that can’t render the animated one

PoolPilot 0.5.0

What’s new in 0.5.0

  • Trigger buttons for one-off actions — fire a VIOLET switching rule or a ProCon.IP digital input with a press-and-hold button, complete with haptic feedback
  • Gauges that follow your controller — chemistry gauges now track the real warning bands and target values from your pool controller, and you can fine-tune any gauge’s range right from the dashboard
  • Save your targets to the controller — set pH, Redox (ORP) and temperature straight from the app
  • Your own labels everywhere — VIOLET outputs now show the names you configured on the controller
  • More polish all around — fuller VoiceOver/screen-reader and Dynamic Type support, a true-to-life in-app demo, and plenty of stability and layout fixes (Android can now pick a background photo from Settings, just like iOS)

PoolPilot 0.4.0

What’s new in 0.4.0

  • A living water backdrop — or pick a calm still image or your own photo
  • Home-screen widget and watch complication now stay fresh in the background (requires background app refresh to be enabled)
  • Polished watch app mirroring your dashboard with gradient gauges
  • Start manual dosing, refill and backwash right from the Switches tab
  • Local-network connection fixes, complete German translation — plus accessibility, stability and visual polish

PoolPilot 0.3.0

What’s new in 0.3.0

  • Choose how many decimals each measurement shows — in the app, widgets and on your watch
  • Demo profiles now open with a ready-made dashboard, so you can explore right away
  • Pool cover controls now show live motion and status
  • Numbers now follow your device’s language and region everywhere
  • Optional crash reporting to help us fix bugs faster (off by default)
  • Plus accessibility, stability and visual polish

PoolPilot is now in beta

The PoolPilot beta is here — free, no account. Both iOS and Android are live — via TestFlight (iOS) and Google Play (Android).

Join on iOS & Apple Watch

Open TestFlight and install PoolPilot for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: join on TestFlight.

Join on Android (2 steps)

  1. Join the Google Groupgroups.google.com/g/poolpilot-beta. That unlocks you for the test.
  2. Opt in, then installopen the test page, tap “Become a tester”, then “Download it on Google Play”.

The beta isn’t in the public stores yet — expect a few rough edges, and please report anything that looks off.

PoolPilot 0.2.0

Release candidate — a pre-release build on the way to the beta, not a public release.

Added

  • Replace the controller toggle with a live connection-status light and connection status with reachability auth and type

Fixed

  • Open the demo controller you picked in the first-run chooser
  • Surface the gauge-style picker on compact temperature cards
  • Pack two short dashboard cards side by side instead of stacking
  • Drop the redundant inline Done button on the dashboard
  • Auto-dismiss the control-action confirmation toast
  • Accept relay writes POSTed in the form body
  • Actually hide gauges hidden in the Measurements editor
  • Collapse hidden Measurements cells instead of leaving empty space
  • Re-enable R8 minification with verified keep rules

PoolPilot 0.1.0

Release candidate — a pre-release build on the way to the beta, not a public release.

PoolPilot 0.1.0 — our first release candidate ahead of the beta. One native app per platform that drives both the ProCon.IP and the VIOLET pool controllers (controller is chosen per profile).

Highlights

  • Four-tab cockpit: Dashboard, Measurements, Switches, Settings.
  • Live readings as banded gauges — pH, redox (ORP), chlorine, temperatures — with several gauge styles and adjustable ranges.
  • Control relays, outputs and dosing (OFF / AUTO / ON), plus cover and VIOLET setpoints.
  • Pin your most-used values and switches to the Dashboard — it starts empty, you decide what goes on it.
  • Demo mode: explore both controllers fully offline, no hardware needed.
  • Companions & glances: Apple Watch, Wear OS, home-screen widgets and (iOS) lock-screen complications.
  • Per-profile backgrounds, auto-detect on connect, fully English + German.

Known issues & limitations

  • This is a release candidate — expect rough edges, and please report anything that looks off.
  • Local network only: your phone must be on the same network as the controller (no remote/cloud access yet).
  • Controllers talk over plain HTTP — you confirm this once before the first connection.
  • If the app asks for a local-network permission, grant it — otherwise it can’t reach the controller and connections time out.
  • The Dashboard is empty until you pin items to it.
  • The exact set of Pro features is still being refined during the beta.

PoolPilot is coming – iOS & Android in the works

PoolPilot brings your pool controller to iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android as a native app — one app for both the ProCon.IP and the VIOLET.

The app is in its final stretch before submission to Apple and Google. This website is already online so that privacy, help and the imprint are reachable from day one.
