What’s new in 1.1.0

• PoolPilot Relay for VIOLET and BADU Blue: owners of these controllers can now set up the relay and invite their household, just like ProCon.IP owners
• Household roles: members can see and operate the pool, while the relay’s settings stay with the owner. Members no longer see actions they aren’t allowed to use (with relay 0.10.0 or later)
• Choose how often the relay reads your controller, right in the Relay settings (owner only, with relay 0.10.0 or later)
• VIOLET: choose between VIOLET push and relay push, so the same alert never reaches you twice
• Setting up a relay no longer throws away the remote access you already had: disconnect the relay and it comes back
• Manage or switch your subscription (monthly or yearly) in Settings → Subscription

Improved settings

• Saved dosing and schedule settings no longer snap back to the old value, on ProCon.IP, VIOLET and BADU Blue
• If the controller doesn’t confirm a change, the app tells you instead of reporting it as saved. On ProCon.IP that answer now comes within 4 seconds
• Number fields only accept as many decimals as the controller uses, and manual dosing is limited exactly like on the controller’s own web pages
• Leaving an editor with an invalid entry asks you first, and the field you’re typing in stays above the keyboard
• Pull down on a controller settings page to reload it. VIOLET and BADU Blue settings also reload by themselves when they’re changed on the controller

Also new

• VIOLET and BADU Blue: a button opens the salt electrolysis settings straight in the controller’s web interface
• Electrolysis cells show their remaining runtime instead of a canister, judged against the cell’s own settings
• Pools dosed with active oxygen are recognised as such; their Redox and chlorine gauges stay neutral

PoolPilot 1.0

• The animated water background pauses after 3 minutes without interaction and resumes seamlessly on your next touch — far less CPU and battery while the app sits open

VIOLET & BADU Blue — timer control (Zeitsteuerung)

• The schedule now only offers ECO and the relay-extension relays as an output — no output the controller can’t actually switch
• An “Off” step is now written with the value the firmware expects, so it really switches the output off (it used to look saved but never took effect)
• After saving a rule, the overview — and the rule itself when reopened — now shows the updated values instead of the old ones

VIOLET & BADU Blue — dosing options (Dosieroptionen)

• “Kalibrierfaktor” is now “Dosiermengenanpassung” and is limited to −50%…+100% instead of free-text entry
• “Regulierungsmodus” is now “Regelart” (Redox, or Redox + chlorine based); the chlorine-based mode — and the chlorine limits — only appear when a chlorine electrode is present
• Hid options that shouldn’t be edited by hand — adaptive control, cycle factor, warning delay, lockout and daily-window start/end; for flocculant dosing, “seconds per revolution” is hidden and “estimated pump runtime” is now read-only (we compute it internally)

Android

• Fixed a crash on cold launch under Android 8–11

Performance

• Much smoother, lower-power dashboard, gauges, lighting and dosing views — they no longer recompute on every idle refresh
• Faster Android cold start (baseline profiles), and the background photo now decodes off the main thread

Despite the fact this release failed in internal tests and did not make it to the Beta, it represents another milestone on the way to a stable version. The app is now capable of controlling and monitoring most of the pool control functions.

A highlight is the support for push notifications – for the VIOLET out-of-the-box and for the ProCon.IP via the PoolPilot Relay, which also retrofits secure remote access for the discontinued model.

Even though this version will not be released as a Beta due to too many bugs, it provides a preview of the upcoming Beta version and the features it will bring.

A little outlook between the release notes: PoolPilot is getting native push notifications from the VIOLET. The pool controller is set to notify the app directly — no detour through third-party services.

The best part: this is taking shape in a friendly, direct exchange with the makers of the pool controllers at PoolDigital — first-hand feedback that makes PoolPilot better across the board. Thank you!

For context: on the ProCon.IP, push notifications arrive via the PoolPilot Relay, which runs e.g. on a Raspberry Pi in your own network.

VIOLET uses its built-in remote-access feature; ProCon.IP has none, so it only works with your own setup (DynDNS, port forwarding, VPN or a reverse proxy)
• Timed relay switches — long-press a relay to switch it for a set duration, after which it returns to its previous setting (Auto/On/Off), with a custom-duration picker. VIOLET runs the timer on the controller, so it finishes even with the app closed; ProCon.IP runs it in the app — in the background on Android, but iOS needs to stay open (or you switch off from a notification)
• Manual dosing for ProCon.IP — trigger manual chlorine and pH dosing straight from the app, matching the controls VIOLET already offered

2. Opt in, then install — open the test page, tap “Become a tester”, then “Download it on Google Play”.

The beta isn’t in the public stores yet — expect a few rough edges, and please report anything that looks off.

The first candidate for a beta launch, not a public release.

PoolPilot 0.1.0 — was meant to become the first beta version, but sadly didn’t make it out to the public. Still an important milestone for the project. One native app per platform that drives both the ProCon.IP and the VIOLET pool controllers (controller is chosen per profile).

Highlights

• Four-tab cockpit: Dashboard, Measurements, Switches, Settings.
• Live readings as banded gauges — pH, redox (ORP), chlorine, temperatures — with several gauge styles and adjustable ranges.
• Control relays, outputs and dosing (OFF / AUTO / ON), plus cover and VIOLET setpoints.
• Pin your most-used values and switches to the Dashboard — it starts empty, you decide what goes on it.

Known issues & limitations

• Local network only: your phone must be on the same network as the controller (no remote/cloud access yet).
• Controllers talk over plain HTTP — you confirm this once before the first connection.
• If the app asks for a local-network permission, grant it — otherwise it can’t reach the controller and connections time out.
• The Dashboard is empty until you pin items to it.
• The exact set of Pro features is still being refined during the beta.

PoolPilot brings your pool controller to iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android as a native app — one app for both the ProCon.IP and the VIOLET.

The app is in its final stretch before submission to Apple and Google. This website is already online so that privacy, help and the imprint are reachable from day one.
